Erin Common Ground is hosting a soil sampling training night! Come on out and learn a little bit about soil health and how to take a soil sample, with soil scientist Ryan Carlow. It'll also be a chance to meet other farmers and gardeners interested in soil.
It will happen August 29th, 6pm-8:30pm at Whole Village (20725 Shaws Creek Rd, Alton). This is part of our Building Common Ground project where we're training citizen scientists who will be taking soil samples at 25 farms across Erin. There's no experience necessary. Feel free to bring a friend!
Please let Nicola Gailits know if you'd like to attend, or have any questions:
JUNE 2024 - JANUARY 2025
This project focuses on analyzing soil samples with a focus on soil health. Local volunteers will be trained as citizen scientists and equipped to collect samples and then to provide this service to local farmers participating in the project. The overall goal is to continue conversations around soil health and continue building the “soil of community” in the Erin area.
